Meet our Pastors and Staff

Rev. John Cheek, Interim Pastor

John began serving at The Holy Way in June 2019. He is a native Arizonan who grew up in the small farming town of Elfrida, about 25 miles north of Douglas.  At the end of a 24-year police career, John began studying for ministry at Fuller Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree.  John also holds an AA degree in Police Science from Cochise College and a BS in Public Administration from the University of Arizona. John and his wife, Lou, are beginning but enthusiastic weavers.  John has 3 sons and 4 grandsons, all of whom are in Tucson. He served as an Associate Pastor at Northminster Presbyterian Church here in Tucson for 12 years, and as Transitional Minister at First Presbyterian Church, Silver City NM for 3 years.

Rev. Ed. Parsil, Parish Visitor

Ed has been our Parish Visitor since 1996. He grew up in Highland Park, New Jersey, received a BA Degree from Central College in Iowa, and Master of Divinity at New Brunswick Theological Seminary in NJ. Kathy Walsh-Americano, Administrative Assistant / Financial Secretary

Kathy joined our staff as Administrative Assistant in April 2016, and became Financial Secretary in September 2019. She grew up in Rancho Cucamonga, California, but has lived in Tucson for the past 14 years.  Kathy keeps things moving in the office at The Holy Way, always with a smile on her face. She loves people and enjoys helping others out. She is also one of our Sunday School teachers, bringing joy to our children as she teaches them about God's love. Kathy is married to Raul Americano and they have a daughter, Alyssa, who also loves God. Their family cherishes moments together and playing with their two dogs, Chaos & Havoc, and a cat named Ivy.
