Pastor Kathy has been at The Holy Way since April of 2016. She started as the Office Manager and has since gone to Seminary through the Presbytery becoming the Pastor of The Holy Way on December 21, 2025. She was born and raised in Southern California, but has been part of the Tucson Community with her husband, Raul, for the past 20 years. They have lived and raised their daughter here in Tucson. Kathy has a love for people and a heart for God's Word. She serves with a passion for Christ and a desire to walk with Him closely.
Dee Karuhe
Office Manager

Dee is the new Office Manager at Holy Way, bringing a diverse background and a strong record of leadership to the role. Throughout her career, she has worn many hats, including serving as a Compliance Officer with Ascensus for two years, where she supported the administration of retirement accounts for financial organizations. From 2013 to 2023, she owned and operated a commercial cleaning franchise for a decade, gaining extensive experience in business management and client relations.
Dee holds the equivalent of an Associate of Applied Education, which she applied during her seven years with TUSD as an Exceptional Education Teacher’s Assistant. She also has three and a half years of coursework completed toward a degree in International Business from Phoenix College and plans to finish her bachelor’s degree.


Karen Jacquez
Sunday School Education
After working towards a BAE in Early Childhood Education, Karen shifted her focus and instead got a BA in Law with a Minor in Psychology. She then attended the James E. Roger’s College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree. She worked in Juvenile law for a year before graduating, representing children ages 0-18 and advocating for them in Department of Child Safety disputes with their parents and navigating complex family dynamics. She passed the bar exam and has been a licensed attorney since October 2025, continuing to work in dependency cases since then. In her free time, she volunteers at her daughter’s school and enjoys helping chaperone kids during field trips.
Worship/Music Staff

Dr. Astrid Chan
Accompanist
Dr. Astrid Chan received her doctorate in piano performance at the University of Arizona School of Music in 2011. She is a full-time piano teacher at Astrid‘s Piano Oasis Studio. In addition to teaching Dr. Chan will be president of the Tucson music teacher association in June 2025 she has been on staff as the Accompanist at The Holy Way Presbyterian Church since 2009.
Jesus Jacquez
Music Director
Jesus Jacquez received a bachelors degree in music education from the University of Arizona School of Music with minors in conducting and business administration in 2018. He teaches music through the instrumental music center on clarinet, flute, saxophone and bassoon. He joined The Holy Way Presbyterian Church staff in 2025 as the Music Director.
